English
Our school is committed to supporting students in the development of their literacy skills through individualised goals outlined in each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Reading is taught using Reading Mastery, an evidence-based program that provides explicit and structured instruction. This approach supports students to build confidence and develop essential reading skills.
Writing is taught through the Writing with All Tools Continuum, which breaks the writing process into clear and manageable stages. This approach also allows students to access and use a range of tools that best support their communication and learning needs.
Students also take part in a variety of structured speaking and listening activities throughout the week. Carefully tailored to each student’s stage of schooling, these activities help build confidence and strengthen communication skills.
