Wellbeing

The Naranga Wellbeing team is made up of a Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader, Psychologist, Mental Health Practitioner, Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Wellbeing Officer/NDIS navigator, and Therapy Assistant.

Our wellbeing team are responsible for supporting the mental health and wellbeing of all students and offer a range of interventions at the whole school, small group and individual level. Our wellbeing team collaborates with classroom staff to ensure the best support for students and their wellbeing needs and are embedded into the school community.

Our wellbeing team are instrumental in supporting the implementation of whole school programs such as the Interoception curriculum which helps students understand their body cues, link these to their emotions and then be able to identify a regulation activity. Our wellbeing team frequently offer a number of small group interventions in the classroom or yard as needed to support play and emotion regulation or more targeted difficulties such as fine motor skills, grief and loss, problem solving and collaboration with others, or utilising assistive technology. Wellbeing team members offer individual discipline specific support on a short-term basis as needed and offer support in identifying appropriate referrals to external services.
